Truckhaven Hills Run - fun pictures

If your truck sports some
articulation, here's the place
and time to show it. Speaking
in strict mathematical terms, no
matter how good your suspension
flex, Truckhaven Hills will have
a place that will max it out.
Here's Pete Griffith making his
way through that gully - one out
of many.
If your truck doesn't sport
lockers, it will need even
more articulation, or some
filing back and forth.
That's a pretty static picture
- this time I didn't get anybody
to document my jeep's progress,
so I had to get out to take it.
Oh well, some other time, when I
convince my family members to
join me in a trip to Truckhaven...
All right, time to get up this
hill. Sure thing, having BFG
Mud-Terrains and lockers all over
the truck help a lot!
The slopes of these little canyons
get pretty steep, at times near 45
degrees.
Gettin' closer... closer...
Let the front tires grab this
ledge...
Here we are, testing our breakover
angle! Now, time to ask yourself
honestly - are you ready to keep
going forward?
Well, even if you know the terrain,
it could have been altered by the
last rain. The dropoff could be a
tad steeper than you think...
The dropoff IS steeper than we thought...
I've been following Pete Griffith
very closely, and enjoyed the sight
of his jeep's undercarriage. Pretty
amazing - you could see all the way
forward past the transfer case!
Pete Griffith says his truck will
ramp near 800. These full size
jeeps flex pretty spectacular
even in the stock form.
A close-up view from behind.
I don't believe in such a
thing as too much articulation!
Here - a start up more than 30
degree loose-dirt grade from a
ditch. Anybody needs a trench?
Well, this attempt was doomed,
but we couldn't pass up this
"Kodak moment."
